Sears - Peyton Works On Paper is pleased to present the recent work of Cecil Touchon.
Cecil Touchon has developed a distinct vocabulary of collaged imagery which draws from the ideals of the Modernist and Constructivist movements. By overlapping poetic passages with solid planes of primary color, the artist anchors his small scaled works with a vintage synthesis. Touchon takes pride in formal integrity. These pieces occupy the territory between the visual hallmarks of modernism and Touchon’s own sense of purity.
Touchon believes: “We should strive toward clarity of vision and purity of heart - that our works bridge the past to the future - that we broaden our view to its limits and recognize and respect our place in history.”
Touchon’s works on paper collages are formalistic with a sense of humor.
